  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • Cooking spray or a small amount of oil For greasing the air fryer basket.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel and thinly slice the onion into rings or strips.
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create your dry mixture.
  3. Toss the onion slices in the flour mixture until well coated.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly oil it.
  3. Place the coated onion slices in the basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary.
  4. Air fry the onions for 15–20 minutes, shaking or stirring halfway through.
  5. Once done, carefully remove the onions and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, use a mandoline slicer for uniform slices and don't skip preheating the air fryer to ensure better crispiness.
