Preparation
- Peel and thinly slice the onion into rings or strips.
- In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create your dry mixture.
- Toss the onion slices in the flour mixture until well coated.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or lightly oil it.
- Place the coated onion slices in the basket in a single layer, working in batches if necessary.
- Air fry the onions for 15–20 minutes, shaking or stirring halfway through.
- Once done, carefully remove the onions and let them cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For best results, use a mandoline slicer for uniform slices and don't skip preheating the air fryer to ensure better crispiness.
