Ingredients
  

For the Brownie Base
  • 1 cup butter Melted
  • 2 cups sugar Granulated
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Cheesecake Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese Room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and blend in the sugar until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture, stirring just until blended.
Assembly
  1. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining brownie batter on top of the cheesecake layer and swirl together with a knife.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until set.
  2. Allow the bars to cool in the pan before cutting into squares for serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure cream cheese is at room temperature. Let bars cool completely in the pan before slicing. They can be stored at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
