Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch cake pan that fits your air fryer basket.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar for about 2 minutes until airy and fluffy.
- Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, then mix until everything is fully combined.
- Gradually incorporate the flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the cake tender.
- Fold in all but 2 tablespoons of the chocolate chips gently into the dough.
- Press the cookie dough into the prepared cake pan, ensuring an even layer, and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
Baking
- Bake in the air fryer for about 22-25 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center looks just set.
- Once done, allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
Frosting
- Beat together the softened butter with sifted powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add in the vanilla extract and milk until you reach your desired frosting texture.
- Pipe or spread the frosting around the edges of the cooled cake and decorate with sprinkles if you wish.
Notes
Ensure even spacing when placing the cake pan in the air fryer for the best airflow. Avoid overbaking; check for doneness at the lower temperature range to maintain that soft center.
