Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter Adds richness to the batter.
Coating
  • 1/2 cup sugar For rolling.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Frying
  • Oil For frying.
Serving
  • Chocolate or caramel dip For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, eggs, and melted butter together until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are perfectly fine.
Frying
  1. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or a large pot over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
  2. Using a spoon or a small cookie scoop, drop small spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn golden brown on all sides.
Coating
  1. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining sugar and ground cinnamon to create the coating.
  2. Remove the fried donut bites and drain them briefly on paper towels. While they’re still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with chocolate or caramel dip on the side for a deliciously sweet experience.

Notes

Fry in batches to maintain even cooking. Monitor oil temperature to avoid burning. Warm the dipping sauce for an enhanced experience.
