  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract For additional flavor.
Dry Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Chocolate Chips
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Use dark or semi-sweet for richness.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and light in color (about 2 to 3 minutes).
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and blend until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  2. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and centers are slightly soft.
  3. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature butter. Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor. Refrigerate sticky dough for easier scooping if necessary. You can freeze half of the dough for future cravings.
