Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and light in color (about 2 to 3 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and blend until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and centers are slightly soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter. Consider adding a pinch of cinnamon for extra flavor. Refrigerate sticky dough for easier scooping if necessary. You can freeze half of the dough for future cravings.
