Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Provides structure to the cookies
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adds sweetness
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) Keeps cookies rich and moist
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk For softness, can substitute with milk and lemon juice/vinegar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Gel food coloring (pink and blue) For vibrant marbling
  • Cotton candy flavoring (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and buttermilk, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully mixed.
  6. Divide the dough in half; color one half with pink and the other with blue gel food coloring.
Cooking
  1. Use a cookie scoop to take small amounts of each color and create a marbled effect.
  2. Place the cookie dough portions in a single layer in your air fryer basket, ensuring they aren’t overcrowded.
  3. Air fry the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges look golden and the centers remain soft.
  4. Allow cookies to cool slightly in the air fryer before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For the best results, leave space between cookie portions and consider lightly spraying the basket with cooking spray. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for later.
