Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1 pound chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch for crispy texture
  • 1 tablespoon salt and pepper to taste to season chicken
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
For Serving
  • steamed rice for serving
  • steamed veggies for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
  2. Season the chicken pieces generously with salt and pepper, ensuring every piece is well-coated.
  3. Preheat your air fryer according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Cooking
  1. Toss the seasoned chicken pieces into the air fryer basket, arranging them in a single layer. Cook at 400°F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  2. After cooking, pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and toss gently. Return to the air fryer for another 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce.
Serving
  1. Serve hot over steamed rice and alongside veggies. Garnish as desired with sesame seeds or sliced green onions.

Notes

For best results, preheat the air fryer properly, and avoid overcrowding the basket to maintain crispiness. Feel free to substitute with tofu for a vegetarian option or add different vegetables to the sauce.
