Preparation
  1. Heat-treat the flour by microwaving it in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until it reaches 165°F. Let it cool completely.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until fluffy and lighter in color.
  3. Mix in the cooled flour, vanilla extract, and optional salt until no dry flour streaks remain.
  4. Gradually add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the dough becomes soft and scoopable.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Serve immediately or refrigerate for a firmer texture before serving.

Notes

Use milk to control the texture of the dough. Cool the flour completely to prevent melting the butter during mixing. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for freshness.
