Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a blender, combine softened dates and water to create a smooth paste.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add the date paste, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling
  1. Let the brownies cool in the pan until no longer warm to the touch before slicing.
  2. For best results, cool completely before cutting into squares.
