Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 medium Zucchini Fresh and crisp, sliced into rounds or half-moons
  • 1 lb Steak (flank or sirloin) Well-seasoned for a lovely crust
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced) Essential for flavor
  • 3 tbsp Butter For a creamy richness
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil To heat the skillet
  • to taste Salt For seasoning
  • to taste Pepper For seasoning
  • optional Fresh herbs (like parsley or thyme) For added flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Begin by slicing the zucchini into rounds or half-moons for even cooking.
  2. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
Cooking
  1. In a skillet, heat a splash of olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Add the steak to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and allow it to rest on a cutting board.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter along with the minced garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  5. Toss in the sliced zucchini and sauté until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Slice the rested steak and serve over the sautéed zucchini, drizzling the garlic butter on top.

Notes

For best results, ensure your pan is hot enough when adding steak. Letting the steak rest is crucial for juicy results. Consider adding red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
