Ingredients

For the Steak
  • 1 lb Sirloin steak Marinated in soy sauce and sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce For marinating and serving
  • 2 tbsp Sesame oil For marinating and sautéing
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced for marinade
  • 1 in Ginger Grated for marinade
For the Vegetables and Rice
  • 4 cups Mixed vegetables Such as bell peppers, zucchini, and onions
  • 4 cups Fried rice Use pre-cooked or homemade
  • 1 bunch Green onions Chopped for garnish
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by marinating the sirloin steak in a blend of soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak and cook to your desired doneness, usually about 4-6 minutes per side for medium. Remove from the pan and let it rest.
  2. In the same pan, add a splash more of sesame oil and toss in the mixed vegetables. Sauté until tender and vibrant, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the fried rice to the pan with the vegetables, allowing it to stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until everything is heated through.
Serving
  1. Thinly slice the rested steak and serve over the fried rice and vegetables. Garnish with chopped green onions and extra soy sauce as desired.

Notes

For best results, don’t rush the marinating process and make sure not to overcrowd the pan. These bowls store well and make great meal prep options when prepared ahead of time.
