Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cubed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Method

Cooking
  1. Begin by heating the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the cubed chicken to the pan, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Cook for about 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned on all sides and cooked through.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, barbecue sauce, and soy sauce until well combined.
  4. Pour the sauce over the browned chicken in the pan, stirring well to coat. Let it simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Serve the honey BBQ chicken over the cooked rice, drizzling any extra sauce on top. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

For best results, you can marinate the chicken in the honey barbecue sauce for an hour before cooking to enhance the flavor. Feel free to customize by adding vegetables or swapping proteins as you like. Leftovers store well and can be reheated easily.
