For the Bars
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour Sifted for accuracy.
  • 0.5 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 cups milk Room temperature.
  • 0.25 cups maple syrup
  • 0.25 cups melted butter
  • 1 large egg Room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Glaze
  • 0.5 cups powdered sugar Sifted.
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup To taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the milk, maple syrup, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Let the bars cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
Glazing
  1. To prepare the glaze, mix the powdered sugar and maple syrup in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars, letting it set slightly before slicing.
  3. Cut into squares and serve.
