Ingredients

For the Lemonade Base
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 cups cold water
  • 4–5 pieces thin-skinned limes, washed and ends trimmed Thin-skinned limes provide a bold lime flavor.
  • 10 pieces fresh strawberries, tops removed Ripe strawberries enhance flavor.
  • 6 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk Adds a creamy texture.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pitcher, stir the sugar into the cold water until mostly dissolved. Refrigerate while you prep the fruit for about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Rinse the limes, trim off the ends, and cut each lime into wedges.
Blend the Limes
  1. Add half of the lime wedges to a blender along with 2 cups of the chilled sugar water. Pulse until the rinds are broken up and the liquid looks cloudy.
  2. Strain to separate the juice from the rind pieces.
  3. Repeat this process with the remaining lime wedges and another 2 cups of sugar water.
Blend the Strawberries
  1. Blend the strawberries with the final 2 cups of chilled sugar water until fully broken down and evenly pink.
  2. Strain through a mesh sieve to keep the drink silky.
Combine and Serve
  1. Combine all the strained liquids in the pitcher and stir in the sweetened condensed milk until the color is uniformly pale pink.
  2. Pour over ice and garnish with a lime slice or strawberries as desired.

Notes

For the best results, pulse the limes instead of blending to avoid bitterness. Stir the condensed milk until fully mixed and taste before serving over ice as it will dilute the flavor.
